Samira Mensah is Managing Director, Research & Analytics Africa, and Country Head for South Africa at S&P Global Ratings. She leads the organisation’s thought leadership and market outreach strategy across the continent, shaping insights on credit, risk and macro‑financial developments in Africa.

Based in Johannesburg, Samira previously served as a director and lead analyst in the Financial Services Ratings team, covering a broad range of institutions including banks, market financial infrastructure, asset managers, insurers, multilateral lending institutions, as well as sovereign ratings and Islamic Finance across Africa.

She joined S&P Global Ratings in 2008 in London from the Montreal Exchange (TMX Group), where she worked as a market and credit risk analyst on derivatives instruments. A specialist in emerging credit markets and Islamic Finance, Samira is a regular speaker at industry conferences and has published widely on related topics.
