Rivoningo Mnisi is the Group Executive for Eskom Renewables, bringing more than two decades of experience across digitalisation, innovation, strategy, operations, and sustainability. He has a strong track record in executing strategic initiatives and driving operational excellence, with significant exposure to both the mining and energy sectors.

In his current role, Rivoningo is focused on establishing Eskom’s renewable energy business as a major player in the sector. His priorities include delivering an initial executable pipeline of approximately 2GW of renewable energy projects by 2027, while also advancing Eskom’s broader pipeline of more than 20GW of renewable projects to support diversification of the energy mix and the organisation’s emissions‑reduction strategy.

Before joining Eskom, Rivoningo served as Chief Strategy Officer at Exxaro. He previously spent 10 years at Anglo American in various strategic roles centred on operational turnaround, and 5 years in manufacturing as a World Class Manufacturing Instructor.
