James Perry is the Group Chief Financial Officer of OPay, a leading digital financial services platform operating in Nigeria—its largest market—and select emerging markets. OPay leverages technology to expand access to financial services and drive financial inclusion across its footprint.

In his role, James oversees the finance, legal, and investor relations functions, guiding the company’s financial strategy, regulatory engagement, and capital markets activities. He plays a central role in scaling OPay’s payments and financial services ecosystem, which today serves more than 40 million users.

Before joining OPay, James was Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific Technology Investment Banking at Citigroup. Over nearly three decades with Citigroup and its predecessor firms, he advised technology and fintech companies across the region on equity capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic financings.

James previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Zilingo, a Singapore‑based technology platform. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Finance and International Business, and in French, from The Pennsylvania State University.
