Grant Howarth is a Director and Principal at Metier, supporting the firm’s Capital Growth Funds. He holds a Bachelor of Business Science in Economics and a Master of Commerce in Financial Markets from Rhodes University. 

He began his career at Monitor Group, working within the capital team to support private equity funds across Southern Africa. During this time, he gained broad industry exposure through transaction due diligence and investment analysis. 

Since joining Metier in 2009, Grant has been closely involved in investments across sectors including telecommunications, construction, manufacturing, student accommodation, and clothing retail. He also plays a coverage role across Sub‑Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on East Africa.
