Gabriel Swanepoel is the Country Manager for Mastercard Southern Africa, responsible for the region’s performance, strategic direction, and brand development. He focuses on scaling innovative payment technologies in partnership with banks, fintechs, telecommunications companies, retailers, and publicsector institutions. 

Previously, Gabriel served as Vice President: Business Integration at Mastercard Southern Africa, leading innovation, product development, and M&A activity in the market. 

With more than 22 years of experience in payments and financial technology, he has consulted for MTN Mobile Money Holdings and cofounded XLink Communications, now a leading provider of card terminal and ATM connectivity services in South Africa.
