Frederik Thoring Flagstad is a Director at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), where he leads private equity investments across growth markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with primary responsibility for the firm’s investment activities on the African continent. He brings more than 15 years of experience in renewable energy and infrastructure, having originated and executed large‑scale transactions across multiple markets.
At CIP, he oversees the ownership and value‑creation agenda for Mulilo, a Cape Town–based independent power producer, and serves on its board. In this role, he works closely with management on strategy, governance, capital allocation, and portfolio development in South Africa.
Before joining CIP, Frederik co‑founded GreenGo Energy, helping grow the business from inception into a multi‑country renewable energy developer with a 3 GW solar pipeline. His earlier experience includes leading development activities across Europe and the United States and delivering multiple utility‑scale projects.
He holds a BA in Economics from Macalester College and a Professional Certificate from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
