Aadil brings extensive experience in project finance, infrastructure development, and capital solutions across Africa. He began his career in M&A and BEE transactions in the SME sector before joining Standard Bank’s Project Finance business in 2008, where he structured landmark PPPs in accommodation, ports, and roads across Sub Saharan Africa.

He played a pivotal role in developing the continent’s renewable energy market, closing more than 18 transactions and helping bring bankable wind and solar projects to market. His experience also includes financing the first private sector project financed hospital in South Africa, port developments in West and East Africa, and downstream fuel storage projects in Mauritius, Mozambique, and South Africa.

After leading the Project Finance business until 2018, Aadil became Head of Global Infrastructure, driving the Group’s client strategy across geographies with a focus on transportation, water, and logistics. He returned to Investment Banking in 2021 as Head of Energy and Infrastructure, overseeing sector strategy and stewardship of the debt balance sheet.

In 2025, his role expanded to include a focus on African sovereigns, reflecting the continent’s widening infrastructure investment gap and the need to originate and access diverse pools of capital.
