Elected Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat in 2020, H.E. Wamkele Mene previously served as Chief Director of Africa Economic Relations at South Africa’s Department of Trade and Industry, leading AfCFTA and Tripartite FTA negotiations. A former WTO representative, he also worked for Wall Street law firms in London and Hong Kong. H.E. Wamkele is an expert in international trade, investment, and business law.
