The Windaba conference
Windaba, the premier wind energy conference and exhibition in Africa, returned for its 13th year. This flagship event, hosted by the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) and supported by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), brings together professionals, policymakers, academics, government representatives and civil society to share expertise and drive the growth of the wind energy sector.
This year, Windaba aimed to showcase the wide-ranging impact of wind energy on the continent and beyond. Standard Bank Head of Power Rentia van Tonder moderated a panel discussion titled ‘Unlocking growth and opportunities for wind power in the evolving energy market’, which highlighted current regulations, the diverse investment opportunities and how to find better ways to finance projects that will grow the sector.
