A Chartered Accountant (CA) and CFA charter holder, Steve joined Standard Bank in 2002 and has previously served as Head of Client Solutions for Global Markets, Head of Power and Infrastructure and more recently as Head of the Financial Institutions Group.

In his current role, Steve provides strategic leadership and client engagement across South Africa’s CIB portfolio - driving growth, risk management, and market positioning in line with the bank’s Africa-focused mandate. He is also recognised for offering sharp market insights to regulators, policymakers, and clients. With over two decades at the Group, Steve’s track record reflects deep industry knowledge and consistent delivery in one of the continent’s most competitive financial landscapes.
