
Sandile Peta is the Energy Sector Lead at Infrastructure South Africa (ISA), where he oversees the National Strategic Energy Infrastructure Projects Portfolio valued at over US$40 billion.
He is a Yale International Leadership Centre Climate Fellow and previously served as Technical Advisor to the Minister of Electricity during the peak of South Africa’s electricity crisis in 2023.
With more than 15 years’ experience in the energy sector, Sandile has held technical, managerial, and advisory roles across power utilities, government, and the private sector, spanning conventional and renewable energy technologies.
He is a Professionally Registered Engineer, holding a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Leadership from Wits Business School.
His work bridges governance, infrastructure investment, and climate action, with engagements across government, DFIs, SOEs, diplomatic missions, and industry associations.
