
Rudi Dicks leads the Project Management Office in the Private Office of the President of South Africa. He oversees strategic initiatives including the Presidential Employment Stimulus, Youth Employment Initiative, and the Just Energy Transition Investment Plan. Rudi is also co-lead of Operation Vulindlela, a joint programme with National Treasury to drive structural reforms in energy, logistics, telecommunications and water. He has played key roles in stabilising critical sectors, removing policy bottlenecks, and coordinating responses to crises - including Covid-19, the 2021 unrest and infrastructure-related extortion. Before joining the Presidency, Rudi led socio-economic policy at the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME), where he established the Socio-Economic Impact Assessment System. Earlier, he was Executive Director at the National Labour and Economic Development Institute (NALEDI). He holds an MSc in Finance and a Postgraduate Diploma in Economic Principles from the University of London. In 2021, he received global recognition for bureaucratic innovation.
