Erik Wandrag is the Founder and CEO of Oceans Finance Company (OFC), an organisation dedicated to structuring large-scale, long-term climate finance transactions. With over 20 years’ experience in infrastructure investment across emerging markets, Erik has led projects worth over $15 billion. His career spans roles at Climate Fund Managers, Power Africa, Harith General Partners, and Cennergi (a Tata Power and Exxaro JV), where he helped channel billions into energy and sustainability-linked ventures. In 2023, Erik led the world’s largest debt-for-climate conversion - transforming $1.6 billion in Ecuadorian debt into $656 million in conservation-linked financing for the Galápagos Islands. The deal freed $1.1 billion in fiscal space, directed over $400 million to conservation, and established a long-term endowment. Erik has also advised top institutions including GE, Sasol, DBSA, and Standard Bank, earning recognition in the Africa Power Elites for his impact. He remains a key figure in global climate finance innovation.
