Founder and Host of Africa to the World Festival

Dele Olojede is the founder and host of Africa In the World. A writer, publisher and editor for more than four decades, he has served as a correspondent in major global centres — including New York, Johannesburg and Beijing — primarily for New York Newsday. Over his career, he has reported from more than 75 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and North America, and also published an investigative newspaper in Lagos.

Dele is a moderator of the Aspen Institute’s leadership seminars for the Aspen Global Leadership Network, where he is also a fellow. He serves on several boards, including EARTH University in Costa Rica, Alitheia Capital, and the selection board of the Aurora Prize, which awards USD 1 million annually to an individual or organisation delivering exceptional humanitarian impact.

He was the first African‑born winner of the Pulitzer Prize, journalism’s highest honour, recognised for his reporting on the aftermath of the Rwandan genocide. Dele remains a frequent writer and commentator on public affairs.
