Goolam serves as the Chief Economist and Head of Research at Standard Bank Group. Under his leadership, the team has consistently earned top rankings for macroeconomic, financial markets and political research. In addition to receiving the Top South African Economist award, he was instrumental in Standard Bank’s research capability being named Best Research House in eight of the past nine years in the Financial Mail Ranking the Analysts survey. Goolam regularly participates in global dialogues on politics, macroeconomics, and financial markets.
