
Paul is an Economist and transformational Leader, with over 22 years of influencing economic policy and development initiatives through economic analysis, strategy design, capacity building and high-level dialogue. As the Chief Country Economist of the African Development Bank for South Africa (AfDB) he leads strategic planning, macroeconomic analysis and policy advisory. Before that he served as Chief Country Economist for Ethiopia. Prior to joining the African Development Bank, Paul worked with the World Bank, the United Nations, Bank of Uganda and Makerere University.
Paul has authored various articles and led teams to deliver superior results and build consensus among stakeholders. He holds a PhD in Economics, an MBA in Leadership, an MA in Economic Planning and a BSc in Economics. He also has specialised training in strategy design and facilitation, project management, results-based management and negotiations. Paul is a Rotarian, with the mission to make positive change in people’s lives.
