Alex leads the Client SA division within Global Markets at Standard Bank, bringing over two decades of experience in financial markets. His career began as a commodities trader at Glencore, followed by roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland in London and Investec Johannesburg as a currency trader. Since joining Standard Bank in 2006, Davidson has held various leadership positions, including heading the Sales and Structuring Team for Global Markets before being appointed head of Client, SA in 2021. He is a qualified chartered accountant (CA(SA)) and holds a CFA Level 3 certification.
