Standard Bank received 12 awards at the Bonds, Loans and ESG Capital Markets Africa Awards 2023
Highlighting our commitment to partnering with clients and providing innovative financing solutions that drive Africa’s growth, we have received multiple awards at the 9th annual Bonds, Loans and ESG Capital Markets Africa Awards.
We were awarded in the following categories:
- Local Currency Bond House of the Year
- Local Currency Loan House of the Year
- Project Finance Bank of the Year
- Sub-Sahara Africa Investment Bank of the Year
- East Africa Investment Bank of the Year
Specific deals were also acknowledged with the following awards:

Since 2015, the Bonds and Loans Awards have been recognising the most innovative and ground-breaking deals from Sovereign, Corporate and Financial Institutions.
The exhaustive selection process involves close examination of deal size, tenor, structure, and distribution; analysis and background of the Borrower and their accessibility to financing; with extra credit for those deals demonstrating high quality execution, accessing new pools of liquidity, innovative structuring, and opening-up new markets.

This year’s awards ceremony took place on 15 March, alongside the annual Bonds, Loans and ESG Capital Markets Africa conference which was held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on 14 and 15 March 2023.
