The Logistics Group (TLG) is a leading logistics provider in Southern Africa, offering comprehensive supply chain solutions across major trade corridors. TLG has a diverse portfolio of subsidiaries, including FPT, TLG Mozambique and TLG Africa Rail Company, enabling it to handle bulk, breakbulk, containerised and specialised cargo. TLG has a unique platform, servicing clients across the entire logistics value chain, and covers diverse cargo which supports some of the country’s key contributors to GDP, namely, agriculture and mining.
The bank acted in its capacity as structurer, co-mandated lead arranger and co-funder to develop a funding solution that is most optimum for TLG’s funding requirements. The solution entailed a restructuring of TLG’s debt as well as a refinance of existing facilities. The bank participated in the total funding requirement of R 2.5bn, with Standard Bank taking up half of the offering. This transaction provided the bank with an opportunity to support growth and innovation through financing, ultimately contributing to the expansion of trade and commerce.
Unlocking public infrastructure investment in South Africa is a key priority for Standard Bank, and we always aim to leverage our African presence and knowledge of the public sector to create vital partnerships to expedite the roll-out of infrastructure and to foster economic growth.
We are excited to have an opportunity to partner with a leading logistics company such as TLG to assist in creating growth for the company as well as the region’s logistics supply chain infrastructure. By improving transportation, warehousing and distribution networks, our partnership is poised to drive economic growth, reduce operational costs and boost trade. With enhanced logistical capabilities, TLG will continue to provide businesses with access to faster delivery times, lower costs and greater reliability, all of which will foster higher volumes of trade.
