Standard Bank and the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) have signed a N$185 million property development loan agreement. Finalized on September 24, this marks a key step forward in the construction of NAMFISA's new head office.

The N$185 million loan facility will fund the construction of a state-of-the-art headquarters for NAMFISA, enhancing the Authority’s capacity to serve Namibia’s non-banking financial sector and the public more efficiently. This critical infrastructure project aims to streamline NAMFISA’s operations, significantly boosting its ability to regulate and supervise the country's non-banking financial institutions, which are vital to the broader economy.

The new head office will create a modernized environment that enables NAMFISA to fulfill its mandate with greater efficiency, ultimately contributing to the stability and growth of the financial sector in Namibia.

For Standard Bank, this partnership highlights our commitment to driving economic growth in Namibia, embodied in our purpose: “Namibia is our home; we drive her growth.” By supporting essential infrastructure projects like NAMFISA’s new headquarters, we aim to be a key enabler for our clients and the wider Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFI) sector. This facility reaffirms our role as a catalyst for economic development, investing in projects that generate long-term value for Namibia.

This partnership transcends mere financing; it directly contributes to Namibia’s future growth. By equipping NAMFISA with the necessary infrastructure to perform its critical role, Standard Bank is helping to foster a stable and resilient financial sector, essential for sustainable economic progress. Together, we are building a stronger foundation for Namibia’s financial landscape and its economic future.
