New features available

Import Letters of Credit and Local Guarantees

  • Town/City and Zip/Postal Code fields will be removed from the Beneficiary Address in the Parties tab and replaced with Address Line 3.
  • Where this information was captured on previous transactions, the information will populate in Address Line 3.

Import Letters of Credit Mixed Payments

  • Going forward, any combination of mixed payments terms can be captured with a minimum of two (2) payment terms.

Import Letters of Credit Place of Destination

  • Where you initiate and amendment on TradeOnline, the ‘Place of Origination’ and ‘Place of Destination’ fields will be reflected with the value previously captured on the system.
  • If no country value was previously captured, it will default to ‘Country’ and you will be requested to capture the relevant country code as part of the amendment. 

Rejection of Pending transaction

  • This function will introduce the capability for the Bank to reject a pending transaction and send it back to you to rectify or amend.
  • We will capture the reason for the rejection and, upon release, you will receive an email notification advising you of the rejection and call to action.
  • You will no longer need to clone and delete the transaction to rectify it. The call to action will allow you to access the transaction directly to make the required adjustments and submit it for further action.

Digital Import Documentary Credits
  • Access a draft of the Letter of Credit once your application has passed the automated vetting process.
  • The process of checking trade documents through fully automated document checking capabilities have been improved.
Introducing digital guarantees

Digital guarantees are legally valid and will replace traditional paper guarantees through the new process. Standard Bank has adhered to all compliance and regulatory requirements to eliminate any added risk.

  • Enjoy peace of mind with a beneficiary verification portal that allows you to verify that a digital domestic guarantee was legitimately issued by the bank.
  • You have the option to download and email a PDF version or print the guarantee for your beneficiary, and we will courier the issued guarantee should that be required.
  • The claim process on a bank guarantee will remain unchanged until the process is also digitised in the future.
