Passion gives us purpose, and Sherrill Byrne has cultivated a colourful life for herself by pursuing her various passions.

Her desire to immerse herself in the rich cultures that the world has to offer has led her to visit 5 continents and over 20 countries. As a foodie, Sherrill understands how powerful a good meal can be in bringing people together. She cooks not only as a labour of love for family and friends on special occasions but also as a form of creative expression. As a mother of 4 children under 4 (3 boys and 1 girl), she fosters her children’s creative expression and curiosity by taking them to music classes and clamber club.

Her bold, outspoken demeanour, unparalleled drive and ‘can-do’ attitude have helped her thrive in the investment banking space for 15 years. She began her career looking at public-private partnerships (PPP) but soon became the renewable energy go-to person in the team. Throughout her career, she has led 39 projects to financial close and is currently responsible for the Renewable Independent Power Producer Programme (REIPPP) and Risk Mitigation IPP Procurement Programme (RMIPPPP) deals for investment banking.  Read more about the Scatec deal she drove.

Sherrill’s career highlights include her involvement in a transaction for the  British International Investment (BII) in partnership with Scatec and H1 Holdings, which will see them  develop  the first sizable battery energy storage and photovoltaic (PV) solar project in South Africa, Africa’s largest and South Africa’s first baseload renewable energy project uniquely powered entirely by renewable sources.
