Standard Bank recognised for its investment banking services following a series of award wins at the Euromoney Awards of Excellence

Standard Bank has garnered a number of awards at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2020, further bolstering its position as the premier investment bank in Africa.

Top of the list is recognition as the Best Investment Bank in Africa, for the second year running. As a central player in local market financing we have funded deals across the  TMT, Oil & Gas and Education sectors across the continent. The upgrading of our trade processes from manual to digital has reduced turnaround times and improved the automation of guarantees and letters of credit. We were also acknowledged as the Best Investment Bank in Kenya, Malawi and Nigeria.

“As a trusted partner to in-country, regional and international organisations across Africa, these accolades recognise our leading client proposition. We provide independent input into strategic decision-making, backed up by carefully executed solutions across advisory, financing, lending, trading and transactional requirements, says Anne Aliker, Head of Investment Banking at Standard Bank, Africa Regions.

“Our purpose is to drive Africa’s growth. We are committed to being more than a provider of financial products and services – we are a catalyst for economic change in our countries of operation and we endeavour to enhance the lives of our fellow Africans by doing the right business, the right way. We are honoured to be awarded these accolades as it is a testament to that commitment, adds Bill Blackie, Head of Investment Banking at Standard Bank Group.

Standard Bank has also been awarded Best Bank for transactional services and wealth management in Africa.

As a leading publication covering the growth of international finance, Euromoney’s awards programme recognises banks in almost 100 countries, in all regions and in 20 global categories.
