Standard Bank acted as a joint mandate lead arranger for a priority project for the Angolan government, allowing access to the new international airport in Luanda scheduled to open in 2020.
The total size of the contract is USD169.4 million and was financed alongside the International and Commercial Bank of China and Andrade Gutierrez.
The contract includes maintenance and technical services for two years which is expected to address internal mobility issues following the increased rate of development taking place in the Luanda province.
Through the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance, the Angolan Government is the main sponsor for this transaction. The Ministry of Transport is responsible for policy-making and the development of projects while the Ministry of Finance is responsible for the National Treasury and to raise and manage all government debt.
