Standard Bank brings its expertise to Africa’s largest corporate and investment banking event

As Africa’s largest bank by assets, we play a crucial role in identifying opportunities that will allow our continent to thrive while being committed to leading conversations that will unlock Africa’s true potential.

In line with our commitment, we are proud to be sponsors at this year’s Bonds & Loans & ESG Capital Markets Africa event from 5 to 6 March at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. This event is the continent’s only pan-African debt event and the annual meeting place for over 1 100 of Africa’s most senior regional and international issuers, borrowers, investors, bankers, advisers and regulators, and features over 95 expert speakers.

Some of the bank’s key leaders will be present to participate at the event in the following capacity:

  • Executive, Head Securitisation, Debt Capital Markets Nicholas Gunning will be speaking on ‘Exploring potential corporate funding strategies: Which methods are currently being used and how can corporates deploy capital while managing risk?’
  • Executive, Sustainable Finance Anneke Lund will be moderating the panel on ‘Unearthing true sustainability: How credible and transparent is ESG financing?’
  • Head Project & Export Finance Asanda Tsotsi will be moderating the panel on ‘Keeping the lights on in Africa: What does a successful energy transition look like in Africa, given the need to balance energy sustainability, reliability and demand?’

This year’s event is set to have 2 agendas which will run alongside the main event, comprising expert speakers, and will be open to all attendees:

  • Sovereign, Supra & Agency Financing and Investment Africa Forum on 5 March, which will be the largest gathering of sovereign, central banks and DCM decision-makers in Africa
  • Private Credit Africa Stream on 6 March, which will connect asset allocators and global funds with African private credit opportunities
